 ANIMART’s hope for the Future:

  • The dairy, livestock and animal health industries must encourage veterinarians to provide written prescriptions so producers can purchase needed prescription products from a supplier of their choice.
  • By writing prescriptions, your veterinarian is following the Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics of the American Veterinary Medical Association which states “Veterinarians should honor a client’s request for a prescription in lieu of dispensing.”
  • This allows you to choose where you purchase prescription products and this, of course, encourages competition and lower prices ultimately benefiting the industry and consumers.
  • This also helps to build a positive, open relationship among the dairy and livestock industry, the veterinary profession and the animal health product industry.
